Many patients have small lesions, cysts or lumps that can be removed in the office under local anesthesia. This saves the patient considerable time and hassle. Hospitals or surgery centers require patients have a certain work up before they can have surgery, no matter how minor. This work up may include blood tests, x-rays and EKG. In addition patients must have an IV started. Having the procedure performed in the office saves patients significant time and money.
